A detached house with a footprint of up to 70 m², at most two storeys, built for your own housing needs, can be built with a notification instead of a permit. Whether this covers a container home depends on its structure and design.[3][2]
Rate for building a single-family house up to 300 m² of usable floor area. The part above that threshold is taxed at 23%.[4]
Average turnkey price of a container home in 2026 examples. A conventional house costs 5,500–6,000 zł/m² on average to build.[5][6]
A summary of our research, October 2026. Rules change and can vary by region or municipality: check with your local authority before you buy or build.
